How Fast Things Were Last Week - Day 2

Actually, Day 2 (April 26, 2010) was the start of the workshop proper.
i woke up at beyond six. i then freshened up before taking my breakfast at the dining hall.
my roommate was not yet awake when i was done at the bathroom. so, i decided to leave him in the room.
when i went to the hall, there were only few people ready to take their breakfast. most of them were panelists. but that did not stop me from eating and filling my stomach. i ate enough that i could hold. after eating, i went back to my room, and saw my roommate already awake.
while he was at the bathroom, i decided to prepare myself for the start of the session.
i picked up the things that i would need for the first day, which included the works to be tackled for that day. i tried to read them again, trying to figure out who might be the authors of those.
then, after everyone had eaten their breakfast and had enough time for a break, we heard the ringing of the bell. it's the start.
i made it to the conference hall earlier than the scheduled time.we were already many in the hall.
i felt very cold not because of the pressure but because of the airconditioner which was set at its coolest temperature. even the other fellows felt the same thing. but we were able to adjust.
we then went to introducing the panelists and the fellows after having an opening prayer.
i got to introduce myself, but only for a short while.
after knowing each other, the first work was elucidated.
after the first work, we took a break and a snack was served at the dining hall, which happened to be beside the dining hall.
after the short break, the next work was elucidated.
after more or less an hour, we had our lunch.
again, the food was great. my stomach was again full.
after having lunch, i went to my room and took a little rest. it proved useful for that day, because i immediately felt the stress just by reading other people's works and having a hard time understanding them.
at around two in the afternoon, the workshop resumed. another work was about to be dissected under the eyes of the panelists and the fellows. it's a good thing that it was not yet my work, because if it was, then i would definitely panic. lol!
after the third session, we were told to have a group session with each panelists.
our panelist was Dr. Anthony Tan. i was with Gino, Glenn and Vernan.
we had a talk at the dining hall. there were talking about so many things that i had, again, a hard time catching up. then, we decided to go to SM Bacolod, to the Booksale, to buy some books.
we went there before six in the evening.
we first arrived at the north wing of SM, but the Booksale is located in the South Wing. so we still had to cross to the next wing. but, it was fun. we saw many people. the difficult part was that i did not know any one of them.
we arrived at Booksale and Glenn helped me look for books authored by Sue Grafton. i bought 5 of her book, K, M, N, O, and P.
the others bought some books for themselves also. even Dr. Tan had a share of buying a book.
we decided to go back to La Salle because it's about time that we take our dinner.
we went on separate taxis. i went together with Gino. it was also drizzling. but we were able to manage.
when we arrived, we had our dinner. and again, the food was still great. my stomach was again full.
i went to my room, before my roommate to take a rest.
i changed clothes and prepared myself for sleep.
It was a good day, being the first day of the workshop.
this day was April 26, 2010.
how fast things were last week.
